The Bavarian Coronation Set

In 1806 the Duchy of Bavaria was promoted to a 'Kingdom' by Napoleon Bonaparte and the ruling Duke became Maximilian I, King of Bavaria.
Befitting his new status the King ordered the magnificent regalia which can be seen today in the Treasury of The Residentz Palace in Munich.

The Crown of Bavaria
Set with rubies, diamonds, emeralds, sapphires and pearls.
Crown of the Queens of Bavaria
Made for Maximilian's Queen, Caroline Frederika of Baden, it contains huge pearls and superb large brilliant diamonds.
The State Sword
This magnificent gold sword is 96cm long with a scabbard covered with red velvet.
The Royal Orb
Made of gold and set with brilliants, emeralds, sapphires and rubies.
The Royal Sceptre
89cm long, this gold sceptre is set with brilliants, emeralds and sapphires and the top is surmounted by a small round crown.
