Durbar Emerald Necklace and Ear Studs This necklace is based on the Delhi Durbar necklace. Queen Mary had this piece made for the occasion, from the Cambridge emeralds belonging to her grandmother, the Duchess of Cambridge. The diamonds are smaller cleaving from the Cullinan Diamond The Indian word 'durbar' means both a gathering of chieftans to make administrative decisions, and a purely ceremonial gathering at which they paid homage to their ruler.
